Welcome to our office!
Your first visit to us involves a few special steps so that we can get to know you. To understand what to expect, please read through this page. You'll find all the practical information you need, such as a map and directions to our office, practice hours, payment policies and more. There's also background information about our committed staff and our first visit procedures. You can also save some time by printing out and completing the patient forms in advance of your appointment—or we are happy to email them to you.
Because we do longer examinations than average in dentistry, there may be a short delay in being able to schedule an initial examination. If you have an urgent need, please let us know, and we’ll get you in as quickly as possible to evaluate your main area of concern.
It is common in dental offices to start cleaning your teeth right away on your first visit. While we respect your time, we believe we should diagnose before any of us treat you. It is not possible to treat high volumes of patients this way, but we want to treat you like we would like to be treated. If you have been in regular care with another dentist, we may bring you directly into hygiene if possible and plan a less extensive examination.
At the first appointment for adults, we will initially review medical and dental history, find out your goals, determine how to make dentistry comfortable for you and answer any questions you might have. We will then do a full examination. This includes an oral cancer exam, evaluating gum disease (the painless, most common cause of tooth loss), note evidence of wear, recession, mobility of teeth, how they function, the condition of existing restorations and note any decay. We use many diagnostic aids in the process, including photographs and x-rays (if none are up-to-date and available from a previous office). A cleaning would be provided at a separate visit.
Our practice is working together to gain your trust by being thorough but honest and to provide comfortable care. We want to help you preserve your natural teeth for life and help you maintain your health at an optimum level.
To fulfill this mission, we are committed to:
- Listening to those we are privileged to serve.
- Earn the trust and respect of patients, profession and community.
- Exceed your expectations.
- Ensure a creative, challenging and compassionate professional environment.
- Strive for continuous improvement at all levels.
Your scheduled appointment time has been reserved specifically for you. We request 24-hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
